I have recently had two great events happen that have led me to develop this blog and start writing down my thoughts.
First, I graduated from medical school and now have more time on my hands to share my ideas.
Two, I’ve been inspired by a friend who recently started blogging here.
I’ve seen how powerful it is to share ideas with people, whether they agree or not, and I enjoy the idea that my thoughts, words, and experiences might impact someone out there without me necessarily being aware of it.
This blog will strive to share my ideas about diet and exercise, medical innovation, food, healthcare, starting out as a resident physician, and anything else that I think is notable and/or interesting. It serves as a place to store information I find interesting, while sharing my thoughts and that information with anyone that may be interested.
I follow a “primal” diet with a few personal tweaks. I do feel it is how I was made to live. I hope to motivate people to take the actions needed to reach this point.
I will not lay out any medical advice or specific plans for people to follow to lose weight.
I will give hypotheses that I believe to be true, until proven otherwise, around controversial points in nutrition and medicine.
I hope to provide information that is useful, entertaining, and enlightening.
Please check out the “About Me” tab if you would like a little more background on me. Thanks to those that start reading and I welcome any feedback in the comments.
Roy,
Very interesting stuff! I’m looking forward to hearing what you come up with. I’m approaching 24 hours without a cigarette, which is a massive step for me. I really want to turn my eating habits around also. I am particularly interested in what a “bipolar healthy” diet might look like. Congratulations on graduating medical school, and let me know if Bryan Biologics needs any videos made!
Sincerely,
Nick Hansen
Thanks Nick. I’ll look into diet and bipolar, check back for a post in the next week or two!
