About Me

Roy G. Bryan Jr. MD MBA

I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Management in 2006.  I received my MD from the University of Minnesota Medical School and my MBA from the Carlson School of Management in 2011.  I completed my medical internship at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA.   I’m currently a diagnostic radiology resident at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.  In addition to my medical training, I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and have run my own health consultancy, Bryan Biologics, since 2009.  Finally, I am very interested in the cross-section of technology and medicine having worked in radiology IT.

I have an interest in the application of science and medicine to life and believe that advances in these fields must be tested on an individual basis for impact to be realized.   I am curious about and enjoy exploring many different topics including nutrition, education, medicine, the  business world, evolutionary biology, and biochemistry.

  1. I’m a MD student too, from Norway, soon to be taking the usmle step 1 next semester. Came across your blog while looking up some information about current research on oral insulin, and seeing whats what’s up with metformin, in relation to our pharm classes. I haven’t read your post yet, saving it for breakfast tmrw before clinical cardiology. Gnite, and thanks for blogging!

    1. Thanks for reading…I’ve been slacking on posting…you got me going again. Will finish the posts #2 and #3 of the AMPK series later this weekend. Good luck on Step 1.
